Salary Range: (7680) $48,300.00 – $98,678.40
Position Location: Career and Technical Education/Workforce Development, Montgomery or Birmingham

The Career and Technical Education/Workforce Development Section of the Alabama State Department of Education, intends to employ one (1) Education Specialist I position within the Technical Education Unit located in either Montgomery or Birmingham, Alabama.
Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:
- Provide support for Alabama SkillsUSA activities to include processing Alabama SkillsUSA membership records and assisting with State SkillsUSA Convention activities
- Facilitate the planning, development, implementation and follow-up activities for the course of study within assigned Cluster
- Coordinate TAPE and National program certification process
- Plan, coordinate, and implement statewide professional development for teachers such as regional in-service workshops, summer conference, and virtual sessions
- Provide technical assistance to local education agencies (LEAs)
- Coordinate one of the three Alabama SkillsUSA District conferences, including district planning and contests
- Develop business partnerships and serve on related committees
- Coordinate all Teacher Certified Program training for assigned Cluster
- Communicate with post-secondary institutions to provide opportunities within assigned Cluster
- Serve as coordinator for Alabama and National SkillsUSA competitions in assigned Cluster
- Ability to travel overnight
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
- A minimum of Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the area of Education
Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in teaching, education administration, or a related assignment
