Salary Range: $34,730.40 – $58,111.20

The Child Nutrition Programs/Summer Food School Programs Section of the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) intends to fill a minimum of one (1) Administrative Support Assistant position.
Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:
- Acts as Lead ASA for Summer Nutrition Programs in typing/formatting documents so that information is accurate and complete according to the supervisor’s directives within the specified timeline and with minimum edits.
- Acts as Lead ASA for Summer Nutrition Programs in utilizing office software programs and office machines in order to increase efficiency in correspondence, communication, and meeting deadlines so that department and division/section goals are met.
- Serves as Lead ASA for Summer Nutrition Programs in distributing/disseminating phone messages/documents so that appropriate staff receive their phone messages/documents within three hours after the employee receives them.
- Operates as the Lead ASA for Summer Nutrition Programs in filing documents, including electronic filing, so that records/copies/receipts may be retrieved in accordance with the supervisor’s directives within a timely manner.
- Responsible as Lead ASA for proofreading and editing documents and other materials so that errors in punctuation, content, format, and grammar are corrected in accordance with the supervisor’s designated timelines.
- Takes a lead role in sorting, collating, and maintaining documents/materials/supplies accurately so that distribution and storage are accomplished in accordance with the supervisor’s timelines and section needs.
- Serves as Lead ASA for Summer Nutrition Programs in composing/revising materials/documents such as letters, contracts, and proposals so that written communications and information are accurate and complete.
- Responsible as Lead ASA for calculating numeric information so that reports/materials such as proposals, budgets, contracts, travel claims, and printing are timely, and calculations are accurate. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Must meet the minimum requirements as noted on the State Personnel Department Job
Announcement.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible clerical experience.
