Salary Range: (7680) $50,253.60-$102,664.80

Position Location: Child Nutrition Programs, Gordon Persons Building, Montgomery, Alabama

The Child Nutrition Programs/Policy and Procedure/Compliance Programs Section of the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) intends to fill a minimum of one (1) Education Specialist I position.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Create, implement, and analyze data from an online assessment tool to measure how sponsors rate the effectiveness of ALSDE CNP in providing training and technical assistance.
  • Use data from the assessment tool to develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness a strategic plan to build on identified strengths and weaknesses in CNP.
  • Work with CNP administrators to develop effective online trainings and professional development opportunities and materials for ALSDE staff and sponsors.
  • Research topics as assigned by the administrator to ensure CNP complies with federal and state regulations.
  • Work with CNP administrators to develop effective online trainings and professional development opportunities and materials for ALSDE staff and sponsors.
  • Provide technical expertise to the CNP director and administrators on the adoption and implementation of new software or updates to existing software.
  • Use software such as DocuSign to collect and review responses from sponsors.
  • Work professionally and cooperatively within the organizational structure.
  • Attend at least one professional state or national conference.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Education:

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in an education specialty area

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in teaching, education administration, or a CNP-related assignment.
