Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:

• Collaborates with ALSDE partners to conduct trainings, deliver educational programs, provide educational resources, and serve as the state Arts Education liaison to other agencies, organizations, colleges, universities, and the communities, including state and national Arts Education advisory boards
• Provide oversight and technical assistance for Arts Education across the curriculum
• Develop, plan, organize and implement professional learning opportunities in partnership with specialists working with students from special populations
• Provide instructional support and technical assistance, including instructional coaching support
• Assist with LEA root-cause analyses and instructional planning through implementation of evidence-based practices
• Assist with grant writing to support SDE instructional initiatives
• Complete SDE correspondence, reports, proposals, administrative documents, etc.
• Assist with the development of Alabama Courses of Study
• Provide specialized training to ALSDE and local education agencies staff and other entities
• Design and write and/or coordinate the designing and writing of ALSDE materials
• Assist with Instructional Services partnerships
• Completes other projects and assignments as directed by the Coordinator of Instructional Services

Education:

• Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in an approved content/subject area or education specialty area.

Experience:

• Five years of professional teaching experience in one of the five disciplines of the subject area of arts education. Leadership with instructional coaching initiatives and knowledge of arts education academic standards alignment across the curriculum is highly preferred. Candidate must hold an Alabama Professional Educator Certificate.
