Salary Range: $58,111.20 – $125,304.00

Position Location: Office of Career and Technical Education/Workforce Development – Gordon Persons Building, Montgomery

The Office of Career and Technical Education/Workforce Development Section of the Alabama State Department of Education in Montgomery, intends to employ one (1) Education Administrator for Business Management & Administration, Finance, and Marketing.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Supervise assigned CTE staff in Business Management & Administration, Finance, Marketing, and Work-Based Learning, overseeing task execution, travel, performance, and team operations.
  • Direct Course of Study development and textbook selection processes in collaboration with the CTE team and the Office of Instructional Services.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen career pathways and align student preparation with evolving workforce needs.
  • Provide guidance and training to LEAs, educators, and staff via virtual and in-person sessions, regional workshops, and statewide conferences.
  • Serve as State Administrator for DECA and FBLA-PBL, guiding staff and supporting annual leadership conferences.
  • Develop resources, training modules, and instructional guidance aligned to CTE strategic priorities.
  • Supervise and support Work-Based Learning updates, technical support, and statewide guidance to ensure consistent program implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Complete reports, proposals, and correspondence related to program implementation and strategic initiatives.
  • Overnight travel required.

Education:

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in an approved content area, subject matter, or other education specialty area is required.
  • Master’s degree in a business-related field is desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in teaching and/or education. District and/or school leadership experience required.
