Dr. Francis Allen Long II represents District 7 on the Alabama State Board of Education. Elected in November 2024, he began his term in January 2025. A board-certified otolaryngologist, Dr. Long practiced medicine in northwest Alabama for more than 30 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Alabama and his medical degree from the University of South Alabama. His civic service includes 12 years on the University of North Alabama Board of Trustees and involvement with the Lauderdale County Republican Party.
